Let's Fly Book 1
The Let’s Fly reading programme is available as a complete pack, which includes everything your child needs to follow the full programme from start to finish. This is the ideal “one-stop shop” if you would like all the resources and materials ready to use.
Alternatively, the Let’s Fly books can also be purchased individually. This allows you to buy Let’s Fly 1 or Let’s Fly 2 separately.
Let’s Fly 1
Let’s Fly 1 helps children build the essential foundations for reading. Through simple, structured activities, children develop phonological awareness, learn secure letter–sound relationships, and practise early phonics skills, starting with simple words and gradually moving on to blends and digraphs.
Children gently build confidence by practising quick recognition of the top 100 high-frequency words, helping their reading become smoother and more natural. They are supported in learning how to break words into syllables, making longer words feel far less overwhelming, while also beginning to develop early comprehension skills. This makes it a reassuring and supportive starting point for children who are just beginning their reading journey, or for those who may need a little extra time and encouragement to feel secure with the basics.
What do I get?
1. One hardback A4 book where your child writes directly on each page, and you can easily follow along with each step of the programme-no prior experience needed!
2. To track progress, the programme includes Ted’s Tick List, a handy A6 booklet where you can check off word patterns your child has learned and celebrate achievements with stickers.
3. A bookmark to help keep place and to practise tricky words.
What do I need:
To complete the activities in the book, you will also need a few resources: The Let’s Fly Magnetic Whiteboard Pack (26 lower-case alphabet letter magnets, a whiteboard marker and eraser), coloured felt-tip pens, colourful highlighter pens, a pencil, a stopwatch, plain flashcards, and a tub of play dough.
